'86 IROC - Z, Page 2

Ground effects Ground effects and spoiler just after painting.
IROC hood Hood panel just after being refinished.
Door jamb This shows the door jamb area, refinished at the same time as the outside of the car.

This procedure produces a factory style finish without "tape lines", caused from a two step process where the jamb is sprayed and again covered in order to paint the rest of the body.

Left side Photo of the driver's side completely buffed and polished.
Step 1 Here we begin the 3 step process of buffing and polishing the passenger side of the IROC.

Step 1 - Compounding after color sanding with 2000 grit wet/dry.

Step 2 Step 2 - Polishing with foam pad to remove swirl marks from compounding.
Step 3 Step 3 - Hand glazing is the final step to a mirror finish.
Before and After Before and after "buff and polishing".   This picture doesn't do justice to the shine.  After the IROC is assembled, we will get daylight pictures that will really show off the finish.
